Program Objectives
Macromolecular Science and EngineeringThe Master's Program of Macromolecular Science and Engineering (MSE) is focused on educating and training students about all aspects related to macromolecules. Macromolecules and polymers are giant molecules with high molecular weights. Various macromolecule properties are derived from the three-dimensional stacking of macromolecules and the shapes of macromolecules in nanospace. The MSE research focus is on finding and developing new polymeric materials for the fields of nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology and environmental technology. Graduates of this program will be creative scientific professionals ready to innovate and develop new ideas and products.

Curriculum Overview
Macromolecular Science and EngineeringTo achieve the advanced and progressive research goals of the MSE master's program, the following areas are covered in the program.
(1) Development of photonic based organic materials, and photo- or opto-electronics properties of polymeric materials.
(2) Self-organization of multiphase polymeric materials and soft materials, and polymeric material structure formation in a non-equilibrium thermodynamic state, and three dimensional imaging analysis.
(3) Rheology and electro-rheology of nano materials, polymeric materials and viscoelastic materials.
(4) Ordered structures formation physics, and the physics of polymeric aggregate hierarchical structures.
(5) Polymeric and soft material thermodynamic mechanisms.
(6) The development of environmentally friendly materials such as new biodegradable polymers.
(7) Theoretical aspects and computer simulations related to the self-organization of biomolecules.
