Program Objectives

Design ScienceThe Doctor's Program of Design Science offers course work and research opportunities related to theoretical, historical, and methodological studies of the formative arts (architecture, design and art) created by human aesthetic sensibilities, and the practical elucidation of desirable architecture/urban living space design and function. The program also offers opportunities to learn about various issues related to practice-oriented theory and its application to architectural design, urban planning and design.

Research Activities

Design ScienceThrough high-level course work and close supervision by advisors, doctoral candidates in this program will be active in research. Program candidates are expected to acquire extensive and deep knowledge related to architecture, urban spaces, design, art and culture, and to enhance their problem-identification and solving abilities. Program graduates will become professional researchers or leading designers and architects who will play an important part in the creation of rich life environments and culture.
