In order to offer greater equality in educational opportunities, enhance
our educational programs for concurrently working students, and meet the
needs of society which are growing and diversifying with the advancement
of internationalization; Kyoto Institute of Technology (KIT) has adopted
the diverse range of entrance selection methods described on this page.
Each selection method aims to accept students with the aptitude, capabilities
and volition sought by our university. These methods are consistent with
the objectives and missions of our university. |
Admission to the Undergraduate Program |

| Standard Entrance Examination |
 |
Our university examines each student individually, basing its decision
on the comprehensive results of the National Center for University Entrance
Examinations and a university evaluation of the student’s academic ability.
So that academic ability is not over emphasized, some programs also take
a student’s practical skills, interview results, etc., into consideration.
In addition to the standard entrance examination, KIT utilizes various
methods of selection to recruit outstanding students. |

| Entrance Examination for Self-Funded International Students |
 |
This evaluation system opens the door to self-funded students from abroad
who have a strong will to pursue further education in Japan at our university.
Requirements for applicants are the TOEFL test, the Examination for Japanese
University Admission for International Students (EJU) conducted by the
Japan Student Service Organization,and an essay and interview exam held
at KIT. |

Admission to the Graduate School |

Several selection process are employed for the master’s and doctor’s programs.
In addition to the general entrance examination, KIT utilizes a wide range
of methods to recruit outstanding students. |

A large number of students from foreign countries are currently studying
at our university. We believe a large percentage of international students
is highly desirable for the internationalization of the university. |

| ■International Graduate Program |
 |
Since 2002, KIT has been offering the opportunity to complete our graduate
program in English. In this program, all classes are taught in English
and both master's and doctor's degrees are available in this program. |
