Center for Information Science
The role of the Center for Information Science (CIS) is shifting from traditional supercomputing services to an infrastructure of information technology of the Kyoto Institute of Technology (KIT). The CIS manages the operations of information networks (i.e., KITnet) extended over the KIT campus, and it thoroughly supports educational and research activities in the field of information processing and information communications in KIT. The CIS faithfully acts as a leader of information security management for the students as well as the researchers of KIT. The CIS is also a research center itself and the strategically-chosen research topics cover information security and ethics, intelligent e-education systems, multimedia information processing, and so on.
