KIT is pleased to announce the April 2010 opening of the Department of Bio-based Materials Science (BBMS). Dedicated to the development of next-generation materials synthesized from renewable natural resources via novel bio-technological and bio-chemical conversions (chemo-bio processes), the BBMS integrates the current materials science and engineering fields. The department will provide instruction in the fundamentals of modern physics, chemistry, materials science, and bio-chemistry as well as high-tech approaches to bio-technology, nano-technology, and environmental/energy technologies.
The program is open to all eligible students.
