KIT Student Appointed 2009 Kyoto Prefecture Friendship Ambassador |

This year’s Friendship Ambassadors were appointed in conjunction with the June 19, 2009 ceremony commemorating Kyoto’s 141 year history as a prefecture. KIT first year Advanced Fibro-Science graduate student, Purevdorj Ariundari took the stage and was officially recognized for the honor of Friendship Ambassador for the duration of fiscal 2009. In total, fifteen international students residing in Kyoto Prefecture were appointed and photographed with the governor of Kyoto Prefecture and area university dignitaries.
The Ambassador of Friendship project began in 1992. Each year international students who are highly motivated to promote multiculturalism and facilitate mutual understanding between Kyoto Prefecture and the numerous global regions from which they hail, are selected from among international students residing in this province to take part in various international events.
