Post-Conference Neo Fiber Symposium Held at KIT |
|
To commemorate our 60th anniversary, KIT held a symposium on Neo Fiber Technology at our Matsugasaki campus on September 11th and 12th in conjunction with the10th Asian Textile Conference (ATC-10) that took place from September 7th to 9th. at Shinshu University, Nagano Prefecture. This post-conference symposium was an extension of the KIT Center for Fiber and Textile Science session on Human-Oriented Fiber Technology held during the ATC-10.
Eleven participants were invited to KIT from England, Hong Kong, India, Spain, Sweden, USA, Vietnam and Japan to give oral or poster presentations on the new direction in textiles proposed by our Center for Fiber and Textile Science, Neo-Fiber Technology. Presentations, many with a special focus on environmental concerns, covered a wide range of textile fields such as the newly developed bio-based materials textile processing, textile design and human-oriented fiber engineering. Close to 100 persons contributed to the meaningful question and answer session that followed the program.
