Due to the confirmation of the first case of person infected with the new
type of influenza A(H1N1) virus in Kyoto city, KIT has taken the step of
canceling all classes from Friday, May 22 through Wednesday, May 27, by
request of Kyoto Prefecture and the Kyoto City governments.
This cancellation aims to prevent viruses from spreading on campus and
local community, by reducing chances for the viruses to be transmitted
by close contact in the classrooms and on the campus.
Students are strongly encouraged to stay at home and study for themselves during the period of class cancellation.
All students are requested to continue to check the university’s website
for new information.
