| Europe may call to mind images of stone buildings, yet splendid wooden structures and the techniques involved in their construction abound throughout the region. The Western European buildings of Germany and France are typical of this genre. In Belgium, however, the characteristic styles of both these countries have reached a synthesis. Through architectural drawings, video, models and tools, the current exhibition depicts timber-framed buildings and construction techniques in Walloon, introduces the region of southern Belgium and examines wooden structures throughout Europe. |
