A Courtesy Call from the Director General of Public Service Malaysia and His Delegation

We were honored by a courtesy call from the Director General of Public Service Malaysia, His Excellency Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal, and his delegation on March 10, 2014. This government bureau is responsible for international students sponsored by the Malaysian government, a program which is part of Malaysia’s “Look East Policy.”They came to exchange opinions on dispatching Malaysian students to Japan. In fact, KIT has been accepting Malaysian Government sponsored students since 1986.
In the course of the discussions, the esteemed visitors made clear the academic fields they wish future students to focus on, to President Masao Furuyama, Vice President Mutsuo Takenaga and others present at the meeting. They expressed a keen interest in the effort KIT is making with regard to strengthening ties in networking and maintaining connections with Malaysian alumni. Following the discussions there was an opportunity to meet with and encourage the Malaysian government-sponsored students currently enrolled at KIT. In addition, a tour of the KIT Museum and Archives was lead by Associate Professor Yukihiro Hirayoshi.
We eagerly anticipate the closer relations between Malaysia and KIT that this courtesy visit will engender.
