[Updated September 3, 2026: Application Guidelines Released]
The application guidelines for Fall 2027 admission have been published.
Applicants must read the guidelines carefully, prepare all necessary documents, and complete all application procedures by the specified deadline.

[Pre-application Requirements]
Before submitting your application, you must:
‧ Contact your preferred supervisor to discuss your research plan and other details.
‧ Take an English proficiency test that can certify a minimum level of CEFR B2

In principle, classes and research guidance are conducted in English, but there may be cases where this is not possible. In such cases, separate individual support will be provided in English, as necessary.
 
*Important Note on MEXT Scholarship: According to recent communication from MEXT, it is highly likely that no scholarship quota will be assigned to the IGP General Program for this intake (pending final official notice). Consequently, if you wish to apply for a MEXT scholarship, please make sure to submit your application to the EFM / STL sub-programs.

*Only EFM / STL Program Applicants may apply for the following:
(a) MEXT Scholarship
(b) KIT Fund scholarship for EFM / STL
Such students may apply for (a) and (b) at the same time and if NOT selected for (a), are still eligible to receive (b). In other words, EFM / STL sub-programs applicants can qualify for two scholarship selections (However, only one of (a) or (b) can be received. )

Application Forms

◎Step1:
Due to a system outage, the document submission method for “Step 1” has been changed as follows:
[Before] Submitting the required documents by uploading them to the ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
[After] Submitting the required documents as email attachments

In addition, the required documents have also been revised as follows:
– Added: “Form 1”
– Removed: “Certificate of support to pay for expenses” (*)
*You will be requested to submit this document once your admission to KIT is confirmed.

Details regarding the email subject, file naming conventions, accepted file formats, and other instructions are described in Form 1. Please read it carefully and ensure your documents are submitted accordingly.

Please note that there are no changes to the “Step 2” process or the documents to be uploaded.
