Halal Curry is Available at KIT Co-op(Seikyo).

Kyoto Institute of Technology is now selling retort pouch curry products that are certified to have met Islamic principles by a Halal certification authority. This curry has been available since April 5th at the KIT Co-op (Seikyo), KIT SHOP on the second floor of KIT HOUSE.

Halal is a term that describes any object or an action that is lawful or permitted under Islamic law. Muslims are only allowed to eat Halal foods and it is well known that the consumption of pork is prohibited in Islam. Any dishes containing pork, as well as dishes cooked with kitchen utensils that have been used for pork, can be considered contrary to Islamic principles.

Kyoto Institute of Technology has a diverse student body from all over the world. Therefore, to better accommodate these students and to further internationalize KIT, we have decided to sell retort pouch curry products that are certified to follow Islamic principles by a Halal certification authority.

Everyone can enjoy this curry! Halal also means healthy, clean and safe. We recommend the product to not only Muslims but also non-Muslims.

The retort pouch curry products are certified Islamic principles by JAKIM, Malaysian Halal certification authority, and you can eat 4 types “Beef Rendang,” “Beef Curry with Potatoes,” “Chicken Rendang” and “Chicken Curry with Potatoes.
