Yes! Come find out the answers to these questions and many more!

The KIT International Center will hold a week-long event for students interested in studying abroad. You can get information about various programs, interact with KIT international students and get answers to specific questions! This week will be your first big step in exploring the world! Bring your friends and enjoy campus-wide events and displays. Free admission! No reservations are needed! (Restrictions to attendance are indicated with asterisks (*).)

You will have a chance to hear KIT students speak about their actual experiences studying abroad through the Japanese government’s “TOBITATE! Young Ambassador Program.*” How did they prepare for the interview? What were their achievements and hardships? Did they have any surprising experiences?

KIT provides a wide variety of study abroad programs ranging from language focused ones open to students from any major, to those which involve specific research laboratories and academic fields. This information session gives an overview of all KIT study abroad programs.

“TOBITATE! Young Ambassador Program*” Student Panel Discussion (Open to KIT students only)

Students who have studied abroad through “TOBITATE! Young Ambassador Program” of MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) will be talking about their experiences in a panel discussion format. How did they respond during their selection interviews? What were their achievements and hardships during the program? Did they have any surprising experiences? This is a great opportunity to hear about their actual experiences and opinions about the program. We will have a guest from the MEXT, Tobitate! Program, so questions are very welcome!
If you are thinking about applying to this program or even a little bit interested, don’t miss out on this valuable chance!

This party, planned by student-volunteers in “KITICO,” is a great opportunity for newly arrived KIT international students and KIT Japanese students/staff to get to know each other. If you are interested in cross-cultural exchange or learning about places on the other side of the world, come join us! Have a great time and make new friends over refreshments.

This is a reporting session presented by 4 students who have studied abroad in the west coast and east coast area of the United States. Come and listen what they have learned and experienced in America, the land of freedom! We will be offering some American Snacks & Sweets as well!
1) Entrepreneurship Camp held at North Carolina State University (3 students)
2) A student who has earned a graduate degree in Stanford University

Presentations on Global Internship Program Experience (Open to the general public)

At KIT, the Global Internship Program provides students with opportunities to experience working abroad, being a teaching assistant and conducting research abroad at our partner institutions and universities overseas. Former student interns abroad will report on their experiences in English. You may ask them questions (in Japanese), so this session is highly recommended for students who are thinking of applying to the Global Internship program in the future. There will be four students to report at the session.

Presentations on the KMUTT (Thailand) Summer Camp (Open to KIT students only)

A total of 10 undergraduate students in their first and second years participated in a summer camp program held at King Mongkut’s University of Technology in Thailand. The students spent 10 fruitful days taking classes together with the local students, experiencing various kinds of Thai culture, teaching Thai middle and high school students about Japanese culture, and more. Come hear how they were inspired by Thai students and about their experience studying abroad for the first time!

KIT International Night 2016 (By invitation only)

This party is sponsored by the KIT President, Dr. Masao Furuyama. Representatives of international organizations such as consulates have been invited to the party so that students and KIT personnel can meet them and form closer relationships with KIT international students, faculty and staff.

Learn what you need to know to be an engineer directly from KIT alumni engineers at companies and reseach institutions.This is a great opportunity for students to talk to engineers inside the company face-to-face.

Exhibition of Vietnamese Culture / Special Exhibition of “Housing around the world”

There will be some international exhibirions at the KIT Library,too.
You can learn about the Vietnam cultures or about housing around the world.

World Food Fair / World Snack and Sweets Fair

During International Week, the KIT Cafeteria will offer a variety of international dishes.
You can also find international snacks and sweets at the KIT shop.
Enjoy something new and become more “international” at lunch, too!
