International Week 2016 successfully finished

KIT’s International Week, aiming at introducing the university’s international exchange activities to its students and further enhancing their opportunities for studying abroad, was successfully held from October 24th to 28th, with the participation of many students as well as academic members and administration staff. The presentation by students regarding the first Summer Camps held in the US and Thailand and the “TOBITATE! Young Ambassador Program” Student Panel Discussion with a guest speaker Ms. Chisato Hayashi (TOBITATE! Public Relations, MEXT) took place with many participants showing interest in studying abroad. Participants were actively gathering information during and after the event, by asking the speakers about their experiences. As many of the participants mentioned: “Having the chance to listen directly to the experiences of other students, made me feel motivated to study abroad”. In addition, during the Presentations on the Global Internship Program Experience, students presented their own experiences in English and Professor Susan Kohte of Cologne University of Applied Sciences (in academic alliance with KIT), participated as a judge with other KIT faculty members. At the customary kick-off party with international students, participation was higher than usual, with “KITICO” (a volunteer student group which supports international students) boosting the mood and bringing everyone closer. It definitely was a week rich in international color for Matsugasaki campus, raising students’ awareness of overseas studies and showing clearly that overseas study support at the university level is further accelerating.
