Yes! Come find out the answers to these questions and many more!

The KIT International Center will hold a week-long event for students interested in studying abroad. You can get information about various programs, interact with KIT international students and get answers to specific questions! This week will be your first big step in exploring the world! This year, KIT will invite Prof. Seth Putterman, a leading researcher from UCLA, to give us a lecture on cutting-edge technology. Bring your friends and enjoy campus-wide events and displays. Free admission! No reservations are needed! (Restrictions to attendance are indicated with asterisks (*).)

Study Abroad Seminar *Open to KIT students only

KIT provides a wide variety of study abroad programs ranging from language focused ones open to students from any major, to those which involve specific research laboratories and academic fields. This information session gives an overview of all KIT study abroad programs.
Come and find out which program suits you best!
One of the students will speak about his experience of studying in Germany which was supported by the Japanese government’s “TOBITATE! Young Ambassador Program.*”
*TOBITATE! funding is only available to Japanese nationals.

Overseas Safety Seminar *Open to KIT students and staff only

We will provide vital information on how to stay safe in various countries. Prepare for your study abroad experience by having correct information before you travel. Participation in this session is highly recommended to faculty and staff who are engaged in sending students abroad.

This party, planned by student-volunteers in “KITICO,” is a great opportunity for newly arrived KIT international students and KIT Japanese students/staff to get to know each other. If you are interested in cross-cultural exchange or learning about places on the other side of the world, come join us! Have a great time and make new friends over refreshments.

This is a reporting session presented by students who participated in study abroad programs supported by the KIT scholarship fund. 5 students will talk about their experiences in Hungary, France, UK, Canada and Australia. Come and listen what they have learned and experienced.

At KIT, the Global Internship Program provides students with opportunities to experience working abroad and conducting research abroad at our partner institutions and universities overseas. Former student interns abroad will report on their experiences in English. You may ask them questions (in Japanese), so this session is highly recommended for students who are thinking of applying to the Global Internship program in the future. There will be four students reporting at the session, who went to Malaysia, Germany, UK and Italy.

Presentations on the Polytech Orleans (France) Summer Camp & Study in France Gathering *Open to KIT students only.

A total of 10 undergraduate 4th year students and graduate students participated in the summer camp program held at Polytech Orleans (University of Orleans) in France. The objective of the summer camp was to build a robot to clear a mission to compete with other teams. How did they cooperate with French students? What did they experience with their home-stay families? Come and listen to their interesting stories in France.
After that, staff from Campus France (a service provided by the French Embassy to promote study in France to students and institutions in Japan) will give an information session. If you are interested in studying in France, it’s your chance to talk to the experts.

Presentations on the KMUTT (Thailand) Summer Camp* *Open to KIT students only.

A total of 9 undergraduate students in their first, second and third year participated in the summer camp program held at King Mongkut’s University of Technology in Thailand. The students spent 10 fruitful days taking classes together with the local students, experiencing various kinds of Thai culture, teaching Thai middle and high school students about Japanese culture, and more. Come hear how they were inspired by Thai students and about their experience studying abroad for the first time!

There will be some international exhibitions at the KIT Library, too.
You can learn about Thai culture or about crafts around the world.

During International Week, the KIT Cafeteria will offer a variety of international dishes.
You can also find international snacks and sweets at the KIT shop.
Enjoy something new and become more “international” at lunch, too!
