The KIT International Center will hold a week-long event for students interested in studying abroad. You can get information about various programs, interact with KIT international students and get answers to specific questions! This week will be your first big step in exploring the world! In addition, this year KIT will be hosting the “Australia – Japan Innovation and Research Symposium”, showcasing research and innovation collaboration between the two countries. Bring your friends and enjoy the campus-wide events and displays. Free admission! No reservation needed! (Restrictions in attendance are indicated with an asterisk (*).)

KIT provides a wide variety of study abroad programs ranging from language focused ones open to students from any major, to those that involve specific research laboratories and academic fields. This information session gives an overview of all KIT study abroad programs.

Universities Australia (UA), in partnership with the Japan Association of National Universities (JANU), will hold an Innovation and Research Symposium at KIT, showcasing research and innovation collaboration between Australia and Japan. KIT and the University of Tasmania will lead a dialogue on the future of research cooperation between Japan and Australia, inviting senior university, industry and government representatives from Australia and Japan to discuss high-level policy issues and explore opportunities for innovative collaboration in research and research training. Throughout the symposium, we will highlight some of the outstanding work already underway and discuss how to increase institutional linkages as well as researcher and research student mobility. This event aims to strengthen and deepen bilateral ties with Japan and raise Australia’s profile as an innovative, creative nation and a partner of choice for research and research training.

A total of 11 undergraduate 4th year students and graduate students participated in the summer camp program held at Polytech Orleans (University of Orleans) in France. The objective of the summer camp was to build a robot to clear a mission to compete with other teams. How did they cooperate with French students? What did they experience with their home-stay families? Come and listen to their interesting stories in France.
In addition, 6 undergraduate students who participated in the spring camp at Kirirom Institute of Technology (KIT) in Cambodia, will make a presentation about their experience during the Drone project and their cultural interaction with the Cambodian students. This will help you decide if you wish to consider participation in this program next year.

KIT’s Global Internship Program provides students with opportunities to experience working abroad and conducting research abroad at our partner institutions and universities. Furthermore, there are opportunities to study abroad supported by KIT scholarship funds. In these presentations, you can listen to actual experiences directly. Former student interns abroad will report on their experiences in English. You can ask them questions in Japanese. This session is highly recommended for students who are thinking of applying to the Global Internship program or the KIT Scholarship Fund in the future. There will be four students reporting at the session, who went to Canada, Italy, and Vietnam.

A total of 10 undergraduate students in their first, second and third year participated in the summer camp program held at King Mongkut’s University of Technology in Thailand. The students spent 10 fruitful days taking classes together with the local students, experiencing various kinds of Thai culture, teaching Thai students about Japanese culture, and more. Come hear how they were inspired by Thai students and about their experience studying abroad for the first time!
In addition, a total of 8 third year undergraduate and graduate students, participated in the summer school program at National Taiwan University of Science & Technology. In this program, 60 students from all over the world took classes in Smart Society, Industry 4.0 etc. and visited one of the world’s most advanced Smart Factory in Taiwan. Come and hear what they learned through this intensive program. We are looking forward to your participation. Asian finger foods will be served!

This party, planned by student-volunteers in “KITICO,” is a great opportunity for newly arrived KIT international students and KIT Japanese students/staff to get to know each other. If you are interested in cross-cultural exchange or learning about places on the other side of the world, come join us! Have a great time and make new friends over refreshments.

During International Week, the KIT Cafeteria will offer a variety of international dishes.
