Re: Kyoto Institute of Technology Degree Awarding Ceremony and Entrance Ceremony

News about the spread of the novel coronavirus infection are being reported daily. There is currently a strong concern about the spread of this virus in places where a large number of people gather, either through conventional contact or droplet transmission.

At Kyoto Institute of Technology, we have been carefully considering the actions to be taken with regard to the Degree Awarding Ceremony and the Entrance Ceremony, given the importance and significance of these events as irreplaceable milestones. After due deliberation, it has been decided that the Degree Awarding Ceremony will be held only with the participation of the graduates and the Entrance Ceremony only with the participation of the new students, without the participation of parents. Parents are kindly requested to refrain from joining these events.

Furthermore, graduates and new students are advised to refrain from attending if they have symptoms such as fever, cough, sneezing, or sense of fatigue. When attending, please wear a mask and pay due attention to infection prevention measures.

Given the fact that, depending on the circumstances, new or additional measures may be taken, a new announcement will be made on the university’s homepage on March 11 (Wed) regarding the Degree Awarding Ceremony and on March 23 (Mon) regarding the Entrance Ceremony.
