Re: Response to Kyoto Prefecture’s Request for Priority Prevention Measures

　
　Following the shift to “Priority COVID-19 Measures” on August 2, 2021, the Kyoto Prefectural Government has requested universities to implement thorough infection prevention measures in order to control the spread of COVID-19.

　Accordingly, Kyoto Institute of Technology has instructed its students, faculty and staff to refrain from non-essential and non-urgent outings, to refrain from drinking alcohol in groups on the street or in parks, to actively promote teleworking, to take thorough measures to prevent infection during extracurricular activities and to prevent infection during eating and drinking (Kyoto Manners).
　We continue to guide our students, faculty and staff to follow the “Kyoto Institute of Technology Manual on Limiting Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Transmission” and to consistently implement basic infection control measures such as to avoid the “3Cs” (crowded places, close contact settings and closed spaces), maintain social distancing from others, wear a mask and wash and disinfect their hands. Furthermore, we continue to advise our students, faculty and staff to actively practice the “new lifestyle” (limiting unnecessary contact with people, etc.) in order to protect their health and prevent others from becoming infected.
