Re: Kyoto Prefecture’s Measures to Prevent Resurgence of COVID-19

As of October 21, Kyoto Prefecture has ended its request to eating and drinking establishments to shorten business hours. However, as we are about to enter a season when infectious diseases are likely to spread, and the risk of resurgence of COVID-19 is always lurking, Kyoto Prefecture has established the following basic rules as the “New Normal from October 22nd” and continues to request that universities and other institutions take thorough measures to prevent infection.
In light of the above, Kyoto Institute of Technology has instructed its students, faculty and staff to thoroughly implement basic infection prevention measures, to take infection risk measures at eating and drinking occasions, and to actively make use of teleworking.
We continue to guide our students, faculty and staff to follow the “Kyoto Institute of Technology Manual on Limiting Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Transmission” and to consistently implement basic infection control measures such as to avoid the “3Cs”, maintain social distancing from others, wear a mask and wash and disinfect their hands. Furthermore, we continue to advise our students, faculty and staff to actively practice the “new lifestyle” in order to protect their health and prevent others from becoming infected.
