thorough infection control measure requirements

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) has notified us that the quarantine period for close contacts of new coronavirus infection has been shortened from seven days to five days, due to disease patterns of the currently predominant Omicron strain. If you have become or are at risk of having been a close contact of a confirmed positive case, please refer to the following Kyoto Prefecture (Q&A for close contacts) website and follow the required measures.
During Obon and summer vacation visits with family you may come in contact with many elderly people and persons you don’t ordinarily visit. Please consider having a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and undergoing a medical examination before returning home or to your home country.
The number of newly positive cases in Kyoto Prefecture is increasing rapidly, and there is concern that the infection may spread further. Again, we strongly urge you take thorough measures to prevent contagion.
