Regarding: Drone Filming on the KIT Campus

We would like to inform you that, on the date below, as a part of a disaster-prevention-themed research project, we will be using a drone to film the Matsugasaki Campus of KIT. This project has the permission and approval of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (Hereafter: MLIT).

The day of this filming project coincides with Kyoto’s Gozan no Okuribi (a centuries-old tradition of sending off spirits that visited during Obon in August).

Although there are already safety management restrictions on entering the Matsugasaki Campus on this day, MLIT regulations for the drone filming require the implementation of additional entry restrictions for non-related persons in the flight area. These restrictions will follow the schedule below.

Be assured that we are taking sufficient safety management measures, including preparation of responses in the event of an accident. Additionally, filming will only take place within the campus. There will be no filming of the areas surrounding KIT.

• Date and Time: August 16, 2023 (Wednesday) from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Weather conditions may prompt a cancellation.)
