On March 7th, Kyoto Institute of Technology (KIT) and Chiang Mai University (CMU) held a signing ceremony to make our new Joint Master’s Degree Program in Architecture official. It will be starting in April 2017.
A joint degree program is an education program in which a single degree will be granted to each student who has completed the joint curriculum set out by two or more partner universities.
KIT and CMU conducted a partnership agreement in 2005. A joint architecture work-shop has been operated every year at both universities since 2010.
This joint degree program will enable KIT to invite greater number of talented students from Thailand and send KIT students to Thailand who will obtain knowledge of traditional and cutting-edge techniques from historical Kyoto and Thai architecture. This valuable program is seen to have invaluable potential to produce architects in both countries who will succeed and lead in the global environment.
