On March 19, 2013 we concluded a partnership agreement and a memorandum on student exchange with South Korea’s Gyeongnam National University of Science and Technology(GNTECH). President Jin-Taek Kwon and the GNTECH delegation were invited to KIT for a signing ceremony during which the presidents of both institutions provided their signatures in agreement of the partnership.
Because it is located in the city of Jinju in the southern region of South Korea, central to the silk industry of the country, GNTECH and KIT have long enjoyed academic exchange at the research level, concerning fiber and color. Through the conclusion of this agreement, we have great expectations for exchange in the fields of design, architecture, and information science and will encourage student exchange in addition to our ongoing textile-related research exchange.
Following the signing ceremony, President Jin-Taek Kwon and his entourage visited the Art and Archives and the fiber research laboratories here on the KIT campus to observe, in part, the research activities currently undertaken there.
