To All New Students and Parents,

Re: Cancellation of the Kyoto Institute of Technology Entrance Ceremony

Following previous announcement, communicated on February 27, 2020, regarding the Entrance Ceremony of Kyoto Institute of Technology for Academic Year 2020-2021, it has been decided that the Entrance Ceremony will not take place.

Kyoto Institute of Technology had requested that parents and guests refrain from joining the ceremony and has been considering the implementation of the event provided that sufficient measures against the coronavirus disease have been taken. However, the risk of a potential spread of the infection resulting from a large gathering of students, has to be avoided by all possible means. We appreciate your understanding on this painful decision. The presidential address will be posted on the university’s homepage.

New students’ orientation and Annual physical examination for students will take place after April 6. (Details regarding time and place will be posted on the university’s homepage within March).
Classes will begin from April 13; however, they may be further postponed depending on future developments. (Details will be posted on the university’s homepage within March).
