Re:Thorough prevention of the resurgence of infections in light of priority prevention measures

The Kyoto Prefecture, as an area of “priority measures to prevent the spread of infections” with regard to COVID-19, has taken measures to prevent the resurgence of the infection since April 12, and universities have also been requested to take thorough measures to that end. On April 16, an additional request was made to limit the number of students entering the campus at one time to 50% or less.
In light of the above, and in accordance with Kyoto Prefecture’s request, Kyoto Institute of Technology will be actively implementing online access for classes starting on or after April 26 and has instructed its students, faculty and staff to make use of online classes (new), to refrain from non-essential outings and from using facilities with a high risk of infection, to actively work from home, to refrain from events involving eating or drinking, to refrain from visiting eating and drinking establishments after the requested shortened operating hours, to thoroughly implement measures to prevent infection during extracurricular activities, and to take measures to prevent infection during eating or drinking (“Kyoto Manners”).
We ask for your continued cooperation in following the “Kyoto Institute of Technology Manual on Limiting Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Transmission” and consistently implementing basic infection control measures. Avoid the “3Cs” (crowded places, close contact settings and closed spaces), maintain social distancing from others, wear a mask and wash and disinfect your hands. Also, actively practice the “new lifestyle” (limiting unnecessary contact with people, etc.) in order to protect your health and prevent others from becoming infected.
