Re: Response to Kyoto Prefecture’s Request for Priority Prevention Measures

As of January 27, 2022, Kyoto Prefectural Government will be implementing “Priority Prevention Measures” against the highly infectious “Omicron” variant and universities have been requested to take thorough infection prevention measures in order to control the spread of COVID-19.

Accordingly, Kyoto Institute of Technology has instructed its students, faculty and staff to refrain from non-essential and non-urgent traveling to and from other prefectures, to actively promote teleworking, to take thorough measures to prevent infection during extracurricular activities and to prevent infection during eating and drinking (Kyoto Manners).
We continue to guide our students, faculty and staff to follow the “Kyoto Institute of Technology Manual on Limiting Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Transmission” and to consistently implement basic infection control measures such as to avoid the “3Cs” (crowded places, close contact settings and closed spaces), maintain social distancing from others, wear a mask and wash and disinfect their hands. Furthermore, we continue to advise our students, faculty and staff to actively practice the “new lifestyle” (limiting unnecessary contact with people, etc.) in order to protect their health and prevent others from becoming infected.
