Regarding: Kyoto Institute of Technology Manual on Limiting Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Transmission
(6th edition) UPDATE

In response to mask-wearing and other changes in instructions from national and local governments regarding novel coronavirus infection, we are updating the KIT Manual. Revisions will go into effect as of April 1, 2023.

  • Summary of Major Revisions
    • Mask Wearing Recommendation Changes: In principle, although we ask that you decide for yourself when mask use is required, in situations where wearing a mask is beneficial, please consider wearing one.
    • Deletion of information on terminated services such as KOKOTORO, the Kyoto Prefecture Novel Coronavirus Contact App, the Kyoto City Novel Corona Secure Tracking Service and other services

Even after these government mask-wearing policy revisions, basic infection-prevention measures will remain important. The government recommends the continuation of general infection-prevention strategies and urges students, faculty and staff to continue avoiding the 3Cs, (closed (unventilated) spaces, crowded places and close-contact settings) and to continue to implement basic infection control measures in accordance with the 6th edition of the manual.
