【学生体験談】　
　私は2025年10月から2026年1月にかけて、JoinTECH-Labの支援のもと、イタリアのベニス大学カ・フォスカリ校にて研究活動に参加しました。Angelini准教授の研究室に所属し、ペプチドの合成を行うとともに、タンパク質との結合挙動およびペプチド間の競合性について評価しました。初めて取り組む実験手法も多くありましたが、メンターである博士課程の学生の丁寧な指導により、各操作やその意義を十分に理解しながら研究を進めることができました。また、実験における着眼点や結果の考察方法など、日本の研究室とは異なる研究姿勢を実体験として学ぶことができました。
　研究室のメンバーからは研究活動に関する指導に留まらず、イタリアにおける流行、マナー、生活様式、価値観等についても、自身の経験に基づいた知見を共有してもらったことで、書籍やインターネットから得られる情報のみでは把握し得ない、日本とは異なる文化への理解を深める非常に有意義な機会となりました。
　ベニスは治安も良く、学生と観光客が多く行き交う活気ある街でした。美しい運河を眺めながら登校する時間は、日々の大きな楽しみでした。冬季休暇期間中にはイタリア以外の国々も訪問し、地理的には近接しているにもかかわらず、各国において歴史的背景や文化、価値観が大きく異なることを実感しました。中でも、ヨーロッパ各地で催されるクリスマスの行事や街全体を彩る装飾は非常に壮大で、深い感動を覚えました。
　本留学は、専門領域における学びを深めるだけでなく、異なる研究背景をもつ研究者との交流を通じて、研究に対する考え方や姿勢を見つめ直す機会となり、私にとって生涯にわたり記憶に残る、非常に貴重な経験となりました。今後は、留学で得た知見や経験を研究活動などに活かし、その成果を通じて留学中に受けたご支援に応えていきたいと考えています。このような貴重な機会をいただけたことに、心より感謝しています。

Student Report:
From October 2025 to January 2026, I participated in a research program at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in Italy with the support of JoinTECH-Lab. I was affiliated with the laboratory of Associate Professor Angelini, where I conducted peptide synthesis and evaluated their binding to proteins as well as peptide–peptide competition. Although many of the experimental techniques were new to me, I was able to carry out the research while gaining a clear understanding of each procedure and its significance, thanks to the careful guidance of my mentor, a doctoral student. In addition, I learned firsthand research approaches that differ from those in Japanese laboratories, particularly with respect to experimental focus and methods of data interpretation.
The members of the laboratory provided guidance not only in research activities but also shared insights based on their own experiences regarding Italian trends, manners, lifestyles, and values. Through these interactions, I gained a deeper understanding of cultures outside Japan that could not be obtained solely from books or the internet.
Venice was a safe and vibrant city with many students and tourists. Commuting to the university while enjoying views of the beautiful canals became one of the highlights of my daily life. During the winter vacation, I also visited countries outside of Italy and realized that, despite their geographical proximity, each country possesses distinct historical backgrounds, cultures, and values. In particular, the Christmas events and decorations held throughout Europe were magnificent and left a lasting impression on me.
This study-abroad experience was not only an opportunity to deepen my learning in my field of expertise but also a chance to reflect on my approach to research through interactions with researchers from diverse academic backgrounds. It was an invaluable experience that will remain with me for a lifetime. Going forward, I hope to apply the knowledge and experiences gained through this program to my research activities and, through my future achievements, live up to the support I received during this study abroad. I am sincerely grateful for having been given such a valuable opportunity.
