The New Consul General of Italy in Osaka visited KIT

On Thursday, August 5, 2021, the newly appointed Italian Consul General in Osaka, Mr. Marco Prencipe, paid a visit to KIT as his first official visit after the end of his self-imposed quarantine period, and met with President Morisako, Vice President Pezzotti, and Vice President Kamei.
KIT has been actively engaged in exchanges with Italian higher education institutions through 13 academic exchange agreements and 3 double degree programs. At the meeting, President Morisako introduced the research on regional history based on terroir that KIT is conducting with the Politecnico di Torino. Both sides agreed on the similarities between Kyoto and Italian cities that have created new values while respecting tradition and history. With the encouragement of the Consul General, the two sides confirmed their willingness and intent to work more closely together in order to accelerate academic, scientific and technological cooperation between Italy and Japan.
